The life model for singer songwriter, MATIA , is one of love and passion.​  It is precisely her trust in these virtues that keeps attracting the success she experiences.

As she was regrouping her band from last year, it seemed many of the local musicians were not available.  MATIA contacted some professional musicians who now live in southern Oregon and wasn't able to engage them in her project.   In conversations with author, coach and MATIA session drummer, David Bolen,  he expressed the importance of band chemistry. "Music is a conversation between musicians.  Each player needs to resonate with others on stage.  So personality, talent and attitude are important factors in creating a cohesive unit", Bolen explained.  Bolen has performed with Craig Chaquico (Starship), Jeff Pevar (David Crosby, Ray Charles, Bette Midler, David Foster...more), Brandon Fields (Tower of Power..more) Jack Johnson and others.

 

MATIA reached out to her producer and notable guitarist, Kenny Mazur (Robert Palmer, Ojays, Herbie Mann, and more) who is connected with many session and touring musicians.  She explained that her vision was to have a group that was available to travel as shows were being planned nationally in support of her first CD, "Blind" and also her second CD project.  Her next CD is scheduled for release in early 2018.  Mazur reached out to some of his long time associates who enthusiastically embraced the idea of performing with MATIA.

Her band now reads like a list of Rock All-Stars consisting of players who have recorded and performed with the biggest names in rock, r&b and pop history.  In addition to Mazur and Bolen, she has enlisted the companionship of keyboardist, Steve Robbins most known for his cross genre work with legendary artists, Robert Palmer, Ashford & Simpson, Irene Cara, Special EFX among many others.  On guitar she recruited Jon Woodhead, formerly with Leon Russell,  UK band, ACE (hit song, "HOW LONG"), and Maria Maldauer (hit song, " MIDNIGHT AT THE OASIS").  Jon also crosses genres and recorded with contemporary jazz saxman, Dave Koz on his acclaimed CD, Summer Songs.  The band is rounded out with bass player Donnie Yance who cut his teeth in the New York funk scene. Donnie is also well know for his naturopathic skills and remedies having appeared on Martha Stewart multiple times.

MATIA, who also has her doctorate in Chinese medicine, has not only assembled great musicians but a chemistry of human beings who are making a difference in bringing joy and healing through music.
